Gary Busey: A Socrates for our Time

In the beginning of the world, we had some of the greatest philosophers of all time.  We had Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Confucious, and many others so for years, we have lacked someone to fill their shoes and now we have in actor Gary Busey.

Adam De La Pena was a troubled youth and he knew he needed direction so after studying the teachings of Gary Busey, he decided that not only can Gary help him, but if he does this on television, then people can take his advice and learn so Gary agreed to help Adam on I'M WITH BUSEY.  He managed to teach Adam all sorts of things in 13 episodes.  Adam feared so many things so Gary helped him overcome them and he helped him a lot so now on with some of his other work.  He helped him with his dating skills, with survival skills and so much more.

Gary saw that he was a little overweight and even though Gary could have lost it all on his own, he took a look at CELEBRITY FIT CLUB and he realized he could also help his fellow celebrities as well so he volunteered to be on this show so that he along with everyone else could lose weight.  Unfortunately, many of these celebs did not want the leadership that Busey could lend and he just lost his weight after his team decided to stab him in the back and vote him off.

What makes him such a philosopher?  His quotes rank right up their with the greatest philosphers.  Let's take a look at some of Gary Busey's philophical notes.

"It's good for everyone to understand that they are to love their enemies, simply because your enemies show you things about yourself you need to change. So in actuality enemies are friends in reverse."

If people listened more to this quote, this world would be a better place.  An enemy is not afraid to point out your faults, and as their enemy, you can return the favor.  I saw a church marquee in Anderson, Indiana which was inspired by Gary Busey and decided to put up a quote similar to this one so call that enemy when you get a chance, who knows, maybe you can finally become friends, if not, you'll still learn something about yourself.

"If you take shortcuts, you get cut short."

Many people think they can just take shortcuts to get somewhere in life and while some might be lucky, others fall short because they lose a lot of knowledge in the process so Busey hits it right on the head.

"You know what 'FAILING' stands for? It stands for 'Finding An Important Lesson, Inviting Needed Growth.'"

I bet most of you never thought about this, now did you?  Most people think that failure is the lowest you can ever sink but how untrue is that.  Is anyone reading this blog perfect?  I doubt it which means that you're always going to fail but real failure is when we do not learn anything in the process.  Many consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player of all time but when he was in high school he was cut from the basketball team and this failure made him see that he needed improvement.  If the coach actually put him on the team, he might not have learned anything from being on the team and he probably wouldn't have led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships.  It was that failure that makes him the legend he is today.
I could go on and on but I think I have made my point here.  I now leave you with some of the most intelligent minds of all time.  Take a look as to who is in this big group.

In my leave here, I would like to see Gary Busey run for President of the United States, he is what the white house is looking for and is the key to world peace.  Long live Gary Busey, who many call "Today's Socrates".
