This is the first week of our new contest that continues from the Madness. This is a new contest that focuses on the world of Film Noir and everything around it. I never realized how broad Noir really is and intend to make some unusual selections. This will be a similar format that we do with the Madness and these will come out on Tuesdays this month.
Alfred is not a wild card but is a big part of this contest so I gave the Master of Suspense his category
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: A Little Sleep Season 2, Episode 38 (1957, 66 1/2): Bored rich girl decides to go up to her cabin in the mountains and comes to wish she would just stay home. This was a very popular anthology series which was always hosted by Alfred himself in his usual opening line of "good evening" and would always end the episode with a message of sorts.
Psycho (1960, 666 1/2): This has a good amount of mystery to it to qualify. Hitchcock directed this psychological thriller and one of the closer films he did to actual horror. This is a story about a mother and his son and man's best friend is his mother.
-109 minutes
-Based on novel by Robert Bloch
-Basement
-Suitcase of money

BAYWATCH NOIR
I never thought I would put these two words together but as mentioned I have learned how broad the term can be. Much of this series could be associated this way especially with Mitch Buchannon playing detective a lot.
Baywatch: Coronado del Soul Parts 1 and 2 S4, E14 and 15 (1994, 66 1/2): This one focuses more around Summer and her belief that she is seeing a ghost prompting her to investigate the history of the hotel her and the other lifeguards are staying.
Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding (2003, 66 1/2): This was a tv movie that was made a couple years after the series ended. David Hasselhoff reprises his role as Mitch Buchannon and is engaged to be married to a woman named Allison who has a strong resemblance to Stephanie Holden, yes played by Alexandra Paul. Neely Capshaw, played by Gena Lee Nolin, is not buying into it leading her into an investigation to learn of a more sinister plot happening. This was essentially like a reunion episode having much of the cast through the series making an appearance.
Baywatch: Strangers Among Us S3, E14 (1993, 66 1/2): The noir of this episode are a couple smugglers in search of diamonds they believe are in one of Slade's surfboards and Summer inadvertently getting in the middle.

-70 minutes
The Maltese Falcon (1931, 66 1/2): Dwight co-stars as Wilmer Cook in this original screen version 10 years before John Huston and Humphrey Bogart would make the classic. I will say that Spade's portrayals between Ricardo Cortez in this film and Bogey in the later one are quite different.

Boogie Nights (1997, 666 1/2): Heather co-stars as Rollergirl in this film on the adult film industry. I feel this should get some base points for trying to scam a drug dealer and everything going wrong. There is also a convenience story robbery making things pretty intense.
The Hangover (2009, 666): Heather co-stars as the escort Jade. This has a little noir to it with the four guys waking up in the ultimate hangover and having to piece together everything when their friend Doug is missing. Rob Riggle and Cleo King as officers Franklin and Garden should make this count.
-100 minutes
-Scene in a casino
-Suitcase full of money
