Shaun Berk's 10 Movie Recommendations- 877th Edition and the Madness: Folklore Week 1

Welcome to the 877th edition of my series.  I finally had a rehearsal for THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER this week.  This will be happening in December at Elwood so more details will come soon.  This week starts our annual contest of the Madness and there will be more details in that section.  I will get on with my selections for the week.

Becky (2020):  I start the week out with this psychological film which was directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion.  Lulu Wilson stars as the title character of teenage Becky who is visiting a lakehouse owned by her father Jeff, played by Joel McHale.  She has a lot of bitterness in her and things take a turn for the worse when the house is invaded by a group of escaped convicts lead by Dominick, played by Kevin James in the most different I have ever seen him look.  They soon learn that you should never mess with a pissed off teenage girl.  Amanda Brugel, Ryan McDonald, Isaiah Rockliffe, former WWE superstar Robert Maillet aka Kurrgan, James McDougall, Leslie Adlam, and many others co-star in this film.  This is in some ways a version of HOME ALONE with a lot of gore.  Wilson is great as the title character and James does pretty well in his first villainous role.

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013):  Jim Jarmusch wrote and directed this vampire movie.  Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton star as vampire lovers Adam and Eve and no, not the biblical people.  Adam is dealing with depression and has been away from Eve for awhile but they reunite soon.  Things get disrupted when Eve's wild sister Ava, played by Mia Wasikowska, joins them putting everything on the line.  John Hurt, Anton Yelchin, Jeffrey Wright, Slimane Dazi, Carter Logan, and many others co-star in this vampire film.  This is vampires the Jim Jarmusch way and those who know Jarmusch will know what I'm talking about.  History buffs will really like this movie as there are lots of historical references.  This is essentially an arthouse vampire movie that is not for everyone.

The Bleeding House (2011):  Philip Gelatt wrote and directed this horror film.  Patrick Breen stars as Nick, who is a stranger asking to take refuge with the Smith family in a secluded area.  While he has his intentions, he realizes that he is messing with the wrong family.  Alexandra Chando, Betsy Aidem, Richard Bekins, Nina Lisadrello, Charlie Hewson, Court Young, and many others co-star in this horror movie.  This was a pretty compelling horror film where not everything is black and white.  This is more of a psychological horror film.

The Man from the South (1979):  I bill this as a short film but his technically an episode from the anthology series TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED which was written and hosted by Roald Dahl.  Michael Tuchner directed this episode which is the first of the series.  Michael Ontkean and Pamela Stephenson star as married couple Tommy and Cathy.  They meet an elderly gentlemen, played by Jose Ferrer, that offers Michael a new Jaguar car if he can win a wager which comes at a very high price if he loses.  Katy Jurado and Cyril Luckham co-star in this episode.  I have watched a couple episodes of this series and has gone onto be a rather underrated anthology series.

The Mummy (1932):  Karl Freund directed this Universal horror classic.  Boris Karloff stars as Imhotep who is revived and many years being entombed.  He disguises himself as a modern Egyptian named Ardeth Bey and sets out to reunite sets out to reunite with who he believes is his long-lost princess, played by Helen Grosvenor.  David Manners, Arthur Byron, Edward Van Sloan, Bramwell Fletcher, Noble Johnson, and many others co-star in this film.  This is one of Universal's best class horror entries and was really more of a tragic love story than anything.  This was not the first mummy movie but was kind of what got the mummy genre started and inspired by "the curse of King Tut's tomb", just look it up if you don't know.

The Blob (1958):  Irwin S. Yeaworth Jr. directed this classic horror film.  A young Steve McQueen stars as Steve Andrews who along with his girlfriend Jane, played by Aneta Corsaut, witness a strange death but they have a hard time convincing the rest of the town.  An alien lifeform lands that is essentially jelly-like mass lands on Earth and consumes everyone in its path.  Earl Rowe, Olin Howland, Stephen Chase, John Benson, George Karas, Lee Payton, Elbert Smith, and many others co-star in this horror film.  This is the last time McQueen got billed as "Steven McQueen" and would go onto be billed the name we know now.  This has gone onto become quite the cult classic and still retains its creepiness factor.

Get Out (2017):  Jordan Peele wrote and directed this horror film that takes a look at racial tensions.  Daniel Kaluuya stars as Chris Washington who is a black man dating a white woman in Rose, played by Allison Williams.  Chris goes with Rose to visit her parents, played by Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener, for a weekend and learns some dark secrets that will change his life forever.  Caleb Landry Jones, Marcus Henderson, Betty Gabriel, LaKeith Stanford, Stephen Root, Lil Rel Howery, Ashley LeConte Campbell, John Wilmot, Caren Larkey, Julie Ann Jones, Rutherford Cravens, Geraldine Singer, Richard Herd, and many others co-star in this film.  This is some very unsettling horror and has a very creepy feel to it.  Peele makes his feature directorial debut with this movie and was the start to quite a career.

The Strange Case of Alice Cooper (1979):  This is a concert film for the week which obviously features Alice Cooper.  This is based on his 1978 album FROM THE INSIDE.  There is not a lot to tell besides being a wild performance and some good songs.  This features the voice of Vincent Price on here as well.

Bluebeard (1944):  This is not about the famed pirate, this movie is about a serial killer dubbed by the nickname of the title and is directed by Edgar G. Ulmer.  John Carradine stars as the charming Gaston Morrell who is a puppeteer but strangles the women he gets close to.  Jean Parker, Nils Asther, Ludwig Stossel, Teala Loring, Henry Kolker, Iris Adrian and many others co-star in this film.  Carradine has cited this movie as his favorite performance and he was very good.  I always felt John Carradine is a pretty underrated actor who seems to have had a very fascinating career and whose sons followed in his footsteps.

Predator (1987):  John McTiernan directed this action horror film.  Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Dutch who leads a group of special ops on a rescue mission in a remote South African jungle from orders of Colonel Al Dillon, played by Carl Weathers.  When getting there, they encounter an extraterrestrial warrior that is out for blood.  Elpidia Carrillo, Bill Duke, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves, R.G. Armstrong, Shane Black, Kevin Peter Hall, and many others co-star in this classic.  This was the start of the franchise that would have a sequel, a reboot, and a couple of movies where it takes on the alien.  It has become a popular meme of the two arms coming together.  Just know, you won't have any time to bleed when watching this movie.

Well, that is it for this week but continue on for the Madness.  Tell me what you like and dislike and stay tuned for next week which includes Michelle Rodriguez, Isla Fisher, Vincent Price, and many others.

THE MADNESS:  FOLKLORE

This is the first of four weeks of our annual contest.  Through the years I have earned a nickname of "The King of the Loophole".  I got this title because depending on the theme, a lot of names called wild cards are made where we can use any of their work no matter how Halloween-oriented the movie or tv show is.  I have made movies like THE GODFATHER PART 1 AND 2, ROCKY, TITANIC, THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD, and many others.  I like to make categories of people starting with the wild cards, then non-wild cards where I can find multiple titles, and then if I can't really find someone to connect, I'll just make a category.  I like to rate by the four 6 system.  Some theme related with witchcraft and folklore and some are plain wild cards that might make horror enthusiasts cringe.

ALEXANDRA CHANDO (3 points)

Alexandra is not a wild card but found a couple of her works and made a category for her.

The Bleeding House (2011, 86 minutes, 66 1/2):  Alexandra co-stars as Gloria in this violent horror film of a very dysfunctional family where a stranger with mysterious intentions chooses the wrong family.  (2 points)

The Vampire Diaries:  We Have History Together S8, E8 (2017, 42 minutes, 666):  Alexandra makes a guest appearance as Tara who is a doctor whose morality is tested by Damon and Stefan.  At this time, Stefan and Damon must answer to a dock-like person in Cade and to do this Stefan had to lose his humanity.  (1 point)

____________________________________________________

ANGELA BETTIS (5 points)

Angela is a wild card this year so anything she is in counts for the madness.

Criminal Minds:  Alchemy S8, E20 (2013, 42 minutes, 66 1/2):  Angela guest stars in this episode as Tess Mynock.  (1 point)

CSI:  Crime Scene Investigation:  Fracked S11, E8 (2010, 43 minutes, 66 1/2):  Angela makes a guest appearance as a newspaper reporter that believes recent deaths are connected to the local water supply making this episode count. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a good photo of her from the episode so I just did an episode photo.  This episode brings a concerning issue to the forefront.  (1 point)

Girl, Interrupted (1999, 127 minutes, 666):  Angela co-stars as one of the patients in a mental hospital making this count for the Madness this year.  (2 points)

Masters of Horror:  Sick Girl S1, E10 (2016, 56 minutes, 66 1/2):  This was an anthology horror series.  Angela stars as the bug obsessed Ida where a bug bites her new girlfriend and changes her behavior to the extreme.  (1 points)

____________________________________________________

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER (10 points)

Arnold is a past wild card but not this year but I did have a few selections on his list that qualified so I made this former governor of California a category this year.

Batman and Robin (1997, 125, 66):  Arnold plays Mr. Freeze in this Batman movie which is not usually ranked high on most people's lists of the best Batman movies.  It is a guilty pleasure at most.  (2 points)

Predator (1987, 107 minutes, 666 1/2):  Arnold leads a military unit and they must take on an extraterrestrial warrior who is picking off the unit one by one.  This is some sci-fi horror.  (2 points)

The Running Man (1987, 101 minutes, 666):  Arnold stars as Ben Richards in this Dystopian film where he is framed for a murder and must participate in a deadly game show.  This features a lot of reality tv before reality tv was a thing.  (2 points)

Terminator 2:  Judgment Day (1991, 137 minutes, 666 1/2):  One best sci-fi movies and sequels of all time.  I think with the deadly nature of not only Arnold but of Robert Patrick that this should qualify.  (2.5 points)

Total Recall (1990, 113 minutes, 666):  Arnold stars as Douglas Quaid whose virtual trip to Mars gets his memories wiped and does not know what is real or what is not real.  I feel with some of the people being referred to as mutants and the dark world they are in should qualify this one.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

BILL NIGHY (6 points)

Bill is not a wild card but with these selections he gets to be a wild card.

Hot Fuzz (2007, 121 minutes, 666):  Bill plays the rather incompetent chief inspector in this comedy.  With the nature of the brutality of the murders and the cult in this movies, this should qualify for the contest.  (2 points)

Phantom of the Opera (1989, 93 minutes, 66 1/2):  Bill co-stars as opera house owner Martin Barton whose favoritism of Carlotta does not sit well with the Phantom. (2 points)

Underworld (2003, 121 minutes, 66 1/2):  Bill co-stars in the start of this vampire franchise as the elder vampire Viktor so this obviously counts.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

BILLY PORTER (2.5 points)

Billy is a wild card this year so anything he has been in counts so I decided to use some of his work intelevision.

Law and Order:  Cry Wolf S15, E8 (2004, 43 minutes, 66 1/2):  Billy has a cameo role as Greg Ellison which makes this episode count for the year.  (1 point)

Law and Order:  Special Victims Unit:  Dissonant Voices (2013, 43 minutes, 666 1/2):  Billy guest stars on this episode as voice coach Billy Porter who is accused of child molestation by a couple young boys.  This is a pretty intense and hard to watch but deals with an important subject matter with a lot of twists and turns.  (1 point)

The Simpsons:  Highway to Well S31, E17 (2020, 24 minutes, 66 1/2):  Marge gets a job at a cannabis dispensary where Homer decides to do his own underground business to compete.  Billy does a guest appearance as one of the employees.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

BORIS KARLOFF (2.5 points)

Boris has been a wild card in the past but not this year but that doesn't mean he can't be a category.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966, 26 minutes, 666):  Boris narrates this tv special classic and voices the Grinch.  This is a creature feature so this should count and I make no apologies to the Christmas haters out there.  (.5 points)

The mummy (1932, 73 minutes, 666):  Boris stars as Imhotep looking for a lost love and killing a few along the way. (2 points)

____________________________________________________

CHRISTOPHER LEE (12 points)

Christopher is a wild card this year so anything he has done counts and he is automatic triple points no matter the selections.

Charlie's Angels:  Angels in Hiding S5, E1 (1980, 100 minutes, 66 1/2):  This is the two-episode season premire of their final season where Christopher guest stars as the head of a modeling agency which the angels are investigating.  Also of note in this episode is that Tanya Roberts is introduced as Julie Rogers and Jack Albertson of Willy Wonka fame plays a very creepy character.  (6 points)

The Mummy (1959, 88 minutes, 666 1/2):  Christopher stars as the mummy Kharis who is awakened and wreaks havoc.  I like this a little better than the Universal version. (6 points)

____________________________________________________

EARTHA KITT (2 points)

Eartha gets to be a wild card this year so anything she has done counts.

Anna Lucasta (1958):  Eartha stars as the title charcter in this drama that usually would not count but her wild card status makes it count.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

EMILY BLUNT (4 points)

Emily is not a wild card this year but I have a couple of her movies on my list so I am goad to bring her to the Madness.

Into the Woods (2014):  Emily co-s-tars as the Baker's wife in this movie adaptation of the popular Sondheim musical.  There is a witch so this counts.  (2 points)

My Little Pony the Movie (2017, 99 minutes, 66 1/2):  Emily plays bitter pony Tempest Shadow.  No argument should be necessary to get this counted.  The character of the Storm King should be enough to make this count.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

FOREIGN MADNESS (2 points)

Vampyr (1932, 75 minutes, 666):  This is some classic German horror of a young girl slowly becoming a vampire. (2 points)

____________________________________________________

FRANZ DRAMEH (4 points)

Franz is not a wild card this year but fate lead him to this movie blog.

Attack the Block (2011, 88 minutes, 666):  Franz co-stars as inner city gang member Dennis who must rise to the occasion when some deadly aliens invade.  This is a pretty underrated British horror comedy.  (2 points)

Legends of Tomorrow:  Pilot S1, E1 and 2 (2016, 84 minutes, 666):  This is the two-part pilot episode of the CW DC series which brought some characters over from ARROW and THE FLASH.  Franz plays Jefferson who is one half of Firestorm.  (2 points)

Joan is not a wild card but decided to make a category for her.

Homicidal (1961, 88 minutes, 666):  Joan plays a bit of a duel role in this film of a psycho killer from horror director William Castle.  (2 points)

Twilight Zone:  Dead Man's Shoes S3, E18 (1962, 25 minutes, 66 1/2):  Joan stras as the girlfriend of a late gangster whose shoes are taken by a homeless man.  When putting on those shoes, he walks in the man's shoes in a literal way.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

JOEL MCHALE (5 points)

Joel is not a wild card this year but did work his way into my list this year.

Becky (2020, 93 minutes, 666):  Joel co-stars as the father of the title character.  Kevin James leads a gang of people who mess with the wrong girl who sets a few traps for these people.  This is more like a revenge horror.  (2 points)

The Happytime Murders (2018, 91 minutes, 66 1/2):  Joel co-stars in this movie as Agent Campbell where humans and puppets live together but is a rather segregated world.  This is essentially a creature feature and there is a serial killer on the loose killing puppets so I think this deserves base points.  (2 points)

Stargirl:  Frenemies- Chapter Five:  The Thief (2022, 43 minutes, 666):  Joel co-stars in this series as Sylvester Pemberton aka Starman in this superhero series.  (1 point)

____________________________________________________

LIVE EVENTS (4 points)

Delaware County Championship Wrestling:  Cornfield Carnage:  This was a wrestling show where both Mick Foley and the Boogeyman were booked.  I feel like due to the bizarre nature of the wrestler the Boogeyman that this should count for base points.  Also, to any of the wrestling fans out there.  If there is a show in your area with the Boogeyman, I encourage you to find a way to go.  I learned that television does not do him justice and I never really appreciated him until I saw a live setting.  (2 points)

Historic Beech Grove Cemetery Tour:  I did this event last night that I am going to attempt base points.  I'm not going to lead on that this was anything haunted.  This is an annual historic tour they do every year and they have people portraying the local figures.  I played Muncie figure Goldsmith Gilbert.  I was playing a dead man so technically I was a ghost.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

NAOMIE HARRIS (3 points)

Naomie is one of our wild cards this year so anything she does counts.

No Time to Die (2021, 163 minutes, 666 1/2):  Naomie co-stars in this 007 film as Moneypenny so it counts for this contest.  (3 points)

____________________________________________________

THE OLSEN TWINS (5 points)

Mary-Kate and Ashley are wild cards this year.  This one was a bit weird to me so I asked Elizabeth and she let me know that with our theme, they are wiccan so anything they do counts so I had to exploit this loophole.

Charlie's Angels:  Full Throttle (2003, 106 minutes, 66 1/2):  The twins make a pretty funny cameo as "Future Angels" in the sequel to the 2000 hit starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu.  (2 points)

Full House Season One, Episodes 14-16 (1987-1988, 24 minutes, 66 1/2):  Of course I must include this sitcom that introduced us to the Olsen twins.  (1.5 points)

The Simpsons:  Diatribe of a Mad Housewife S15, E10 (2004, 24 minutes, 66 1/2):  The twins make a cameo appearance as themselves.  Marge writes a novel and a thinly veiled look at Homer.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

PAUL SORVINO (4 points)

Paul is not a wild card this year but found a couple selections and just went ahead and gave this man a category.  Unfortunately, he left us this year.

Repo the Genetic Opera (2008, 98 minutes, 666 1/2):  Paul co-stars in this rock opera as Rotti, the head of Geneco.  This is one of my favorites and would love to see this done a a stage production someday.  (2 points)

The Stuff (1985, 87 minutes, 666):  This is about a mysterious goo that is marketed as the newest dessert sensation but turns much of the population into zombie-like figures.  Paul co-stars as a retired army colonel that tries to help rid the town. (2 points)

____________________________________________________

ROALD DAHL (2.5 points)

Roald is not a wild card but decided to give this man a bit of an homage.

Tales of the Unexpected:  The Man from the South:  S1, E1 (1979, 24 minutes, 66 1/2):  This was an anthology series of Roald's short stories and he would always host the episodes.  The description is in the recommendations section.  This is a rather underrated series.  (.5 points)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971, 100 minutes, 666):  Roald wrote the book and co-wrote this screenplay.  The Oompa Loompas are creatures in a sense so that is one argument to get this counted.  Another is that I feel they are in a bit of a Dystopian society.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

ROSE MCIVER (1.5 points)

Rose is not a wild card but decided to check out a couple of her supernatural comedies

Ghosts:  Alberta's Podcast S2, E2 (2022, 23 minutes, 666):  Sam decides to start a podcast about Alberta and goes into her backstory of how she died.  (.5 points)

Izombie:  Pilot S1, E1 (2015, 42 minutes, 666):  This is the first episode of this CW series where Rose stars as a Olivia Moore who is a zombie working at the morgue where she is able to eat the brains of the corpses and get psychic ability as well as reduce temptation to eat the living.  She also works with the local police force to help solve murders.  I had never seen this but had heard some good things and it is a pretty clever and funny show.

____________________________________________________

SARAH JESSICA PARKER (18.5 points)

Sarah is a wild card this year, likely the theme with witchcraft and her selection for this week.

Ed Wood (1994, 127 minutes, 666 1/2):  Sarah stars as actress Delores Fuller who was Ed Wood's girlfriend.  One of my favorites.  (2 points)

Hocus Pocus (1993, 96 minutes, 666):  Sarah plays one of the Sanderson sisters who were witches banished in the 17th century and are accidentally brought back.  This is a timeless classic for the family.  I believe this is automatic triple points.  (6 points)

Hocus Pocus 2 (2022, 103 minutes, 66 1/2):  Sarah reprises her role as Sarah Sanderson and I watched it over opening weekend for those extra points.  (10 points)

Sex and the City:  Escape from New York S3, E13 (2000, 30 minutes, 666):  Of course Carrie Bradshaw has to be in this one.  I chose this episode when I saw Sarah Michelle Gellar was a guest star and makes an amusing cameo as well as Matthew McConaughey.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

SHAWN ASHMORE (4 points)

Shawn is not a wild card but found a couple selections making him worthy of a category.

Frozen (2010, 93 minutes, 66 1/2):  This has nothing to do with snowmen or letting go.  Shawn is part of a trio that are stranded on a chairlift and left up there to battle the elements.  This is a very intense film of survival. (2 points)

Mother's Day (2010, 112 minutes, 666):  Shawn just happens to be at a party where the old residents terrorize the home and people in it.  Rebecca de Mornay plays one of the most sadistic mothers of all time.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

SHELLEY WINTERS (3 points)

Shelley is not a wild card but found some good selections to make her into a category.

Batman:  The Greatest Mother of the All and Ma Parker S2, E9 and 10 (1966, 50 minutes, 66):  Shelley is the villain of this two-part episode as Ma Parker, and obvious parody of Ma Barker.  (1 point)

The Night of the Hunter (1955, 92 minutes, 666 1/2):  Shelley co-stars as the widow that a religious fanatic tries to con when in pursuit of some hidden money.  I believe Mitchum's psychotic character should qualify this movie for the Madness.  (2 points)

SHERRY JACKSON (1.5 points)

Batman:  Death in Slow Motion and The Riddler's False Notion S1, E31 and 32 (1966, 50 points, 66 1/2): Sherry guest stars in this two-part episode as the Riddler's girlfriend Pauline.  This episode pays homage to the world of silent comedy with Riddler's crime scheme.  (1 point)

Twilight Zone:  The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtleneck:  S3, E 23 (1962, 25 minutes, 666):  This was an episode of the anthology series where the title character was pronounced dead but comes to life at the funeral.  Sherry co-stars as Jeff's girlfriend Comfort who is not sure how to feel about the situation.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

SIGOURNEY WEAVER (7 points)

Sigourney is not a wild card this year but has been in the past and would be a really good candidate for a women in horror category which is something I have always lobbied for.

Aliens (1986, 137 minutes, 666):  Sigourney stars in this sci-fi classic as her iconic character Ellen Ripley.  (2 points)

Ghostbusters:  Afterlife (2021, 124 minutes, 666 1/2):  This is a good continuation of the franchise that passes the torch a bit.  Sigourney has more of a cameo in this one as her character Dana Barrett from the earlier ones.  (2 points)

The Village (2004, 108 minutes, 66):  Sigourney co-stars as one of the villagers in this atmospheric film from M. Night Shayamalan.  (3 points)
-I believe this this a bonus point for being a remote village.

____________________________________________________

STEVE MCQUEEN (2.5 points)

Steve is not a wild card but has been one in the past and decided to give him a category.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents:  Human Interest Story S4, E32 (1959, 25 minutes, 66 1/2):  Steve has a guest appearance in this anthology series.  Mcqueen interviews a man claiming to be an alien.  This is kind of a TWILIGHT ZONE mixup of this series.  (.5 points)

The Blob (1958, 86 minutes, 666):  A young Steve stars as a teen no one will believe.  I don't think I need an explanation to qualify this one.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

SUPERHEROES AND SUPERVILLAINS (.5 points)

Harley Quinn:  Thawing Hearts, S 2, E 4 (2020, 23 minutes, 666):  Harley and her team go after Mr. Freeze while Poison Ivy and Kite Man look for a good venue to get married.  This episode introduces the villain Condiment Man to the series.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

TATIANA MASLANY (1 point)

Tatiana is not a wild card but decided to expose her a bit as a category.

Bite Size Halloween:  Snatched S3, E3 (2022, 10 minutes, 66 1/2):  This is a series of horror shorts where Tatiana guest stars.  The time on this is enough to give a .5 point in addition to her other show featured.  (.5 points)

She-Hulk:  Attorney at Law:  Ribble and Rip It (2022, 36 minutes, 666):  Tatiana plays Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk.  I know many have not liked this but I enjoy this comedy presentation of the character.  Charlei Cox guest stars on this episode as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil.  (.5 points)

____________________________________________________

TILDA SWINTON (4 points)

Tilda is not a wild card but one could make an argument for her.

Doctor Strange (2016, 115 minutes, 666 1/2):  Tilda co-stars in this superhero film as the ancient one who helps Stephen Strange become the superhero he is to become.  This movie introduces the mystic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  (2 points)

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013, 123 minutes, 66 1/2):  This is Jim Jarmusch's arthouse vampire movie so just take that for what it is worth.  I have the description in the recommendations section.  Tilda co-stars as the vampire Eve.  (2 points)

____________________________________________________

TIM CURRY (4 points)

Tim is a wild card this year and might have the record for being a wild card besides our permanent wild card Bruce Campbell.

Charlie's Angels (2000, 98 minutes, 666):  This has always been a great guilty pleasure for me and always include this one in the Madness when I can.  (2 points)

Home Alone 2:  Lost in New York (1992, 120 minutes, 66 1/2):  Tim co-stars in this holiday classic as the Concierge of a fancy hotel where Kevin stays.  (2 points)

VINCENT PRICE (12 points)

Vincent is a wild card this year so anything counts for this guy and he gets us triple points.

The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939, 106 minutes, 66 1/2):  Vincent co-stars as Sir Walter Raleigh in this royalty film that counts thanks to Vincent.  (6 points)

The Strange Case of Alice Cooper (1979, 74 minutes, 66 1/2):  This is a live rock concert from Alice Cooper where Vincent's voice comes into play.  (6 points)

VIRGINIA MADSEN (6 points)

Virginia is not a wild card but has a lot of movies that would qualify her and is kind of underrated in the supernatural world.

Candyman (1992, 99 minutes, 666):  Virginia stars as a grad student in college and learns about the legend of the Candyman.  She does not believe in that folklore and says the name five times.  When doing that, some horrific murders begin.  (3 points)
-Looking for possible bonus point for the urban legend within the film.

The Number 23 (2007):  Virginia co-stars as Agatha whose husband Walter starts obsessing over the number 23 and there is nothing to do with Michael Jordan.  I feel the psychological elements of this film should make this count for the Madness.  (2 points)

Swamp Thing:  Pilot S1, E1 (2019, 59 minutes, 666):  This was a pretty decent ten episode series about the plant hero.  Virginia was a regular in this series as the bitter Marie Sunderland.  (1 point)

Approximately 154 points
