Welcome to the 935th Edition of my series. This week I have both my usual segment and week one of the Madness so I have been doing a lot of movie watching lately for the Madness. I don't have a lot going on so I will just get to the selections.
See No Evil (2006): I start the week with this slasher film from WWE Films which was directed by Gregory Dark. Former WWE champion and Knox County mayor Kane stars as reclusive psychopath who is staying at an abandoned hotel. A group of delinquents are sent to clean and fix up the hotel with the promise of a reduced sentence not knowing there is a psycho killer staying in the hotel. Christina Vidal, Steven Vidler, Luke Pegler, Rachael Taylor, Penny McNamee, Craig Horner, Tiffany Lamb, and many others co-star in this slasher movie. This does not hold back on the gore factor. This was one of the first horror movie to be put out by WWE Films which is now called WWE Studios. This is not for everyone by any means but worth a look for horror fans and wrestling fans for Kane.
Weathering With You (2019): Makoto Shinkai wrote and directed this Anime film that makes a statement about global warming. A 16 year old boy named Hodaka, voiced by Brandon Engman, who has run away from his home in Tokyo. He befriends an orphaned girl named Hina Amano, voiced by Ashley Boettcher, who has the ability to control the weather. He also falls in love with Hina but her abilities and calling complicate things. Lee Pace, Alison Brie, Riz Ahmed, and many others co-star in the American version. This is a very beautifully done film with both the story and the animation. It is also one to watch with the family.
Jennifer's Body (2009): Karyn Kusama directed this film which was written by Diablo Cody. Amanda Seyfried stars as the nerdy and reserved Needy and Megan Fox stars as conceited cheerleader Jennifer. Somehow they are best friends even though they have nothing in common. Jennifer has gained an appetite for human blood after a fire at a local bar. Needy looks to uncover the truth about her friend that is setting her off. Adam Brody, Johnny Simmons, Juan Riedinger, Chris Pratt, Juno Rinaldi, Kyle Gallner, Josh Emerson, J.K. Simmons, Amy Sedaris, Cynthia Stevenson, and many others co-star in this horror comedy. This is a horror comedy to the core and it is very gruesome. It is also very cheesy which I believe was the goal. This was not necessarily an immediate success but has gained a cult following over the years.
Vincent Price (1977): This is my short film for the week which is technically an episode from the TV series THE MUPPET SHOW. This was a variety series and would always have a celebrity guest so as most might guess, Vincent Price was the guest star in this episode. This is a Halloween oriented episode filled with monsters, ghosts, vampires and spooky sketches. There is also a three-headed monster that wants to audition. Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Dave Goelz, Jim Henson, and many others provide their voices for the Muppet clan. This is one of the most popular episodes of the series and Vincent was all kinds of fun in his sketches.
Haxan (1922): This is my silent film for the week which was written and directed by Benjamin Christensen. This is a fictional documentary which takes a look at witchcraft through the ages from the earliest days into the modern-day of that time. Christensen, Maren Pedersen, Clara Pontoppidan, Elith Pio, Oscar Stribolt, Tora Teje, Astrid Holm, Aage Hertel, Ib Schonberg, and many others co-star in historical reenactments. This was a very groundbreaking film at the time for this type of subject matter and filmmaking. This also has a very iconic image of Satan. I suppose this is the first of the "mockumentary" genre.
Phantom of the Opera (1943): Arthur Lubin directed this Universal film that is based on the novel by Gaston Leroux. Claude Rains stars as composer Erique Claudin who is a violinist and composer who has a fit of madness becoming disfigured in the process. He takes a liking to opera understudy Christine, played by Susanna Foster, and haunts the theater to make her the lead. Nelson Eddy, Edgar Barrier, Leo Carrillo, Jane Farrar, J. Edward Bromberg, Steven Geray, Barbara Everest, Hume Cronyn, Fritz Leiber, Nicki Andre, Gladys Blake, and many others co-star in this Universal film. Many years later, this would become an iconic musical but there were a few versions before that happened. Before this would be the Lon Chaney version from 1925 which this does not quite match but this does have its own quality image with Rains's take on the Phantom character.
The Menu (2022): Mark Mylod directed this horror comedy. Anya Taylor-Joy stars as Margot who is a plus-one to her boyfriend Tyler, played by Nicholas Hoult, while they go to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant which is run by Chef Slowik, played by Ralph Fiennes. The chef serves some very unusual food and has some rather ulterior motives in the process. Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Paul Adelstein, John Leguizamo, Aimee Carrero, Reed Birney, Judith Light, Peter Grosz, Rebecca Coon, Rob Yang, Arturo Castro, Mark St. Cyr, Christina Brucato, Adam Aalderks, and many others co-star in this film. It is very difficult to put this one into words. I felt there were vibes of Agatha Christie's AND THEN THERE WERE NONE and some from SAW. This has lots of wtf moments to keep people intrigued.
Machine-Gun Kelly (1958): Roger Corman directed this biopic on real-life '30s bank robber and Puble Enemy #1 for a time George "Machine Gun" Kelly. Charles Bronson stars as Kelly who robs banks and is usually seen with his Thompson machine gun which earned him the nickname. Susan Cabot co-stars as his domineering girlfriend Flo Becker who is a driving force behind much of the exploits. The main story revolves around the extreme measures taken for a robbery gone wrong. Morey Amsterdam, Richard Devon, Jack Lambert, Frank DeKova, Connie Gilchrist, Wally Campo, and many others co-star in this film. This is Corman's first gangster film and Bronson's first starring role. This is a pretty well done gangster film with a enough action in this low-budget film.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978): Philip Kaufman directed this horror film which is based on the novel THE BODY SNATCHERS written by Jack Finney. Donald Sutherland stars as health inspector Matthew Bennell whose colleague Elizabeth, played by Brooke Adams, believes her husband is himself in a literal way. They set out to figure out what is going on and find that mysterious pods are growing and making a perfect duplicate of each person but void of any humanity. Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright, Leonard Nimoy, Art Hindle, Lelia Goldoni, Kevin McCarthy, Don Siegel, Tom Luddy, and many others co-star in this film. Look for Robert Duvall in a cameo appearance as a priest. This has a really good creep factor in it. This is a remake of a 1956 film of the same title and is one of the better remakes out there.
Martyrs (2008): Pascal Laugier wrote and directed this French-Canadian film. Morjana Alaoui and Mylene Jampanoi star as childhood friends out for revenge against those who abused them in their childhood. Catherine Begin, Robert Toupin, Patricia Tulasne, Juliette Gosselin, Xavier Dolan, and many others co-star in this horror film. This is as graphic as it gets and is more torture horror. This is not for everyone so use your own judgment when looking for films for this holiday. This is a very well done film if this is in your taste of film. This is available to watch on TUBI, Plex, and Tribeca Shortlist which requires a subscription for Prime.
Well, that is it for this this week, but this is week one of the Madness so read on for that segment. Tell me what you like and don't like and stay tuned for next week.
This is week one of our annual October contest the Madness where we watch Halloween oriented movies and tv shows. There are also some loopholes that allow work that is not Halloween oriented which I always try to exploit. I usually make categories for an actor or director. I apologize in advance to Elizabeth if I have screwed up on my bonus elements.
Alison is not a wild card this year, but I did find some worthy selections to make a category for her.
The Rental (2020, 98 minutes, 66): Alison just wants a simple weekend with friends and gets an Airbnb with nothing going right as they feel they are getting watched.
Weathering With You (2019, 112 minutes, 666): Alison provides her voice to the English version of this anime film as the character Natsumi. I believe this should count for the character Amano's ability to control the weather which I see as rather witch-like.
_______________________________________________________
I seem to make Anya into an annual category, and I do believe she would be a worthy candidate for a women in horror category if we can get one.
Last Night in Soho (2021, 116 minutes, 666): Anya co-stars as '60s aspiring singer Sandie in this psychological thriller that is hard to really explain but is quite enjoyable.
The Menu (2022, 107 minutes, 66 1/2): Anya stars as the girlfriend of foodie Tyler and they are invited to a fancy restaurant ran by a celebrity chef. The description is in the section above.
_______________________________________________________
Bruce is a wild card every year so anything that he has acted in, directed, produced, or written counts towards this contest.
Burn Notice: Breaking and Entering S2, E1 (2008, 43 minutes, 666): Bruce was a regular on this series as Sam Axe as he helps his friend Michael Westen who has been "burned".
Evil Dead Rise (2023, 96 minutes, 66 1/2): This is a standalone entry of the EVIL DEAD series where Bruce makes a voice cameo in the film.
-This centers around a family with estranged sisters reuniting and the children.
-There is a murder among cousins for a possible bonus point.
_______________________________________________________
Charmed Again: Part 1 and 2 (2001, 94 minutes, 666):94While Piper and Phoebe mourn the death of Prue, played by Shannen Doherty who just left us this year, they learn of their younger sister Paige Matthews, played by Rose McGowan.
-Suffering a family tragedy on account of Prue's death?
-Sisters being endangered by Paige when she was controlled by the Source
Hell Hath No Fury (2001, 42 minutes, 666): Piper gets rather overzealous in vanquishing demons which puts Phoebe and Cole in danger.
-Phoebe is in some danger from her sister Piper who becomes a loose cannon and then a banshee.
Enter the Demon (2001, 42 minutes, 666): Paige accidentally switches bodies with Phoebe due to some incorrect mixing of potions. Piper meets a Chinese woman named Anling, the daughter and successor of the Zen Master, who must rescue her father from another dimension.
Size Matters (2001, 42 minutes, 666): Robert Englund guest stars as a demon who shrinks women to five inches so the Charmed Ones must step in.
A Knight to Remember (2001, 42 minutes, 666): Paige's childhood fairy tale comes true and meets her evil past self. Paige also considers an offer from Piper and Prue to move into their home.
_______________________________________________________
Chris is not a wild card but he has made a career that could make him one someday.
Jennifer's Body (2009, 102 minutes, 66 1/2): Chris co-stars in this horror comedy as Officer Roman Duda. Megan Fox is sexy as a cheerleader becoming very possessed.
Onward (2020, 102 minutes, 66 1/2): Chris provides the voice of teenage elf Barley who sets off with his brother Ian in hopes of seeing their dad one last time. I think this should qualify as a creature feature.
_______________________________________________________
Claude is not a wild card but this versatile character actor could be a candidate one day.
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: The Horseplayer (1961, 30 minutes, 666): Claude plays a priest who finds that the large collection plates are from a person betting on horse races and has been paying since it started. The priest is asked to place a bet which he comes to regret.
The Phantom of the Opera (1943, 92 minutes, 66 1/2): Claude plays the disfigured composer in this adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel that would become a musical.
_____________________________________________________
Dennis is a wild card this year so anything he has done works towards the Madness.
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957, 122 minutes, 666): A young Dennis plays the role of Billy Clanton in this western making it count for a Halloween contest.
Hoosiers (1986, 114 minutes, 666 1/2): Dennis co-stars in this Indiana small-town basketball classic sports film which is based on a true story. This ranks as one of his best performances as town drunk Shooter who tries to redeem himself when he is bought in as the assistant coach for the high school team. The team in the movie they played against in the finals was Muncie Central High School which is in my own town of Muncie.
King of the Hill: Hank's Got the Willies S1, E4 (1997, 23 minutes, 666): Dennis makes a guest appearance as himself when he is a guest at Willie Nelson's barbeque which the Hill family gets invited.
_______________________________________________________
Elias is not a wild card but had a couple selections to make him a category.
The Last Days on Mars (2013, 98 minutes, 66): Elias is a part of an astronaut explorers on Mars that seem to succumb to a mysterious force. This qualifies as sci-fi horror.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990, 93 minutes, 66 1/2): Elias co-stars as hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones who becomes aligned with the turtles in their fight against Shredder.
_______________________________________________________
Eliza is not a wild card this year but I make a category for her almost every year and could be a good candidate for a women of horror category.
Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.: Savage Land S1, E6 (2013, 23 minutes, 66 1/2): Eliza voiced She-Hulk in this superhero animated series. The Hulk family must go against the mind-controlling dinosaur Sauron and his army of dinosaurs.
Wrong Turn (2003, 84 minutes, 666): Eliza stars as Jessie who is on a road trip with friends and when car trouble happens they encounter cannibalistic mountain men.
_______________________________________________________
Haxan (1922, 91 minutes, 66 1/2): This German silent film is part fiction and part documentary I believe which takes a look at witchcraft through the ages.
Martyrs (2008, 99 minutesm 66 1/2): This is some horror from France where a couple of friends are out for revenge from their childhood trauma.
Song at Midnight (1937, 124 minutes, 66 1/2): This is the first horror film in China which is loosely based on PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.
_______________________________________________________
Francis is a wild card this year so I can use anything he has done in his career.
The Godfather (1972, 175 minutes, 6666): This is one of my favorites so I can never pass this up as a loophole when I get a chance, it's an offer I cannot refuse. Coppola directed this mafia film which is based on the novel by Mario Puzo.
_______________________________________________________
Helen is not a wild card this year but has done a lot in the comic world, most notably the Kryptonian franchise.
Batman: The Animated Series: The Demon's Quest S1, E57 and E58 (1993, 45 minutes, 666): Helen voices the of Talia Al Ghul in this two-part episode. Robin is abducted which leads him to learn plans from Ra's Al Ghul.
-Talia being in danger from her father Ra's Al Ghul when he first got out of the Lazarus Pit.
DC Super Hero Girls: Hero of the Year (2016, 76 minutes, 66): Helen voices the role of Martha Kent in this animated movie. This is a different universe mostly targeted to elementary age girls I would say. Just having Batgirl should make this qualify in the Madness.
Smallville: Abandoned S10, E8 (2010, 42 minutes, 666): Helen plays Clark's biological mother Lara-El as a recurring series. I know some episodes of this may not count but this one features Granny Goodness and takes place in a creepy orphanage.
Supergirl (1984, 124 minutes, 66 1/2): Helen plays Supergirl in this movie and it should count with Faye Dunaway's role as a witch. It was too bad they never got Helen and Christopher Reeve together, maybe that would have worked better than SUPERMAN IV.
Supergirl: Medusa S2, E8 (2016, 43 minutes, 666): Helen has a recurring role as Kara's adoptive mother Eliza Danvers. Supergirl learns Cadmus has a virus that only effects aliens and Eliza looks to help with her science expertise. Some episodes of this series may not count but I believe the virus element should make this one count.
Supernatural: Family Remains S4, E11 (2009, 43 minutes, 666): Sam and Dean try to stop a family from moving into a haunted house. Helen guest stars as Susan who is part of the family that must be protected by the Winchesters.
_______________________________________________________
Jack is a wild card this year on account of his association with Roger Corman.
A Few Good Men (1992, 138 minutes, 666 1/2): Jack stars as Colonel Nathan R. Jessup in this film about a military trial and infamously let us know that we cannot handle the truth.
_______________________________________________________
John is a wild card this year so I can use any of his work.
Enter the Dragon (1973, 102 minutes, 666): This Bruce Lee film counts in part to Saxon's role in the film. This is Bruce Lee at his best in my opinion and this film has quite the array of martial artists.
_______________________________________________________
John is a wild card this year so any of his work counts.
Eight Men Out (1988, 119 minutes, 666): John directed this baseball film based on the real-life 1919 Black Sox scandal where a few disgruntled White Sox players agree to throw the world series. He also co-stars as sportswriter Ring Lardner.
_______________________________________________________
Kathleen is not a wild card but found a couple good selections from the RENEGADE alum to feature her as a category.
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988, 88 minutes, 66 1/2): Kathleen plays Haddonfield resident Kelly Meeker who is one of many that must deal with the return of Michael Myers.
Phoenix the Warrior (1988, 89 minutes, 66): Kathleen plays the title character in this movie where women warriors battle one another. This should count for the post-apocalyptic element.
_______________________________________________________
Katie is not a wild card this year but the DAWSON'S CREEK alum made this list.
Batman Begins (2005, 140 minutes, 666 1/2): Katie plays Bruce Wayne's childhood friend Rachel Dawes who works as an assistant DA trying to fix the corrupt town of Gotham City.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010, 99 minutes, 66): Katie stars as Kim who is trying to understand the behavior of her boyfriend's daughter and find that the house they are in is quite haunted. Plenty of horror elements to make this count.
-Creepy basement
_______________________________________________________
Kelly is not a wild card but found some interesting selections mostly from CW that I decided to include.
Arrow: Welcome to Hong Kong S8, E2 (2019, 42 minutes, 666): Kelly played the recurring character China White in this CW DC series. I know not all episodes will count but this is in the time of the Monitor and how the earths were in danger.
The 100: Pilot S1, S1 (2014, 42 minutes, 666): Kelly guest starred on this pilot episode of this CW series as Cece Cartwig who worked for the Ark. Earth has been mostly wiped out by a natural disaster while some managed to escape to the Ark. 97 years later, they try to send 100 juvenile delinquents to inhabit earth to see if it is still livable. This would be her only episode and I understand that she was cut due to budget restraints.
-Paige Turco and Eliza Taylor are mother and daugher
Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe (2020, 86 minutes, 66 1/2): Kelly voices the role of Stacy in this movie and the tv series it is based upon. Phineas and Ferb's sister Candace is abducted by aliens so along with the rest of the gang, they set out to save Candace. I think a good argument can be made for a creature feature, and most notably Super Super Big Doctor's plant has shades of Audrey 2.
The Vampire Diaries: Fool Me Once S1, E14 (2010, 42 minutes, 666): Kelly played recurring character Pearl Zhu who was a vampire and the mother to vampire Anna. Pearl has been trapped in a tomb for many years and Anna abducts Elena in a scheme to free her. This might be the first episode where we see Damon's more emotional side.
_______________________________________________________
The Book of Mormon (2024): This musical was put on at Emens Auditorium in Muncie. Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote this musical of a couple Mormon missionaries going to Uganda. There is a dream sequence that takes place in Hell to the song SPOOKY MORMON HELL DREAM.
_______________________________________________________
Rachael is not a wild card this year but no one said she can't have a category in the Madness? Well, I know I didn't so here's Rachael.
Man-Thing (2005, 97 minutes, 66): Rachael stars in this obscure Marvel movie as the schoolteacher Teri who is fighting an oil company that she believes is responsible for the deaths. This is kind of Marvel's answer to SWAMP THING.
See No Evil (2006, 84, 66 1/2): Rachael co-stars as Zoe is part of a group of delinquents assigned to clean an old hotel not knowing Mayor Kane has been residing there and starts killing.
_______________________________________________________
Riki is not a wild card but has a lot for me to choose from so she gets a category.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Him S7, E6 (2002, 42 minutes, 666): Riki makes an appearance in the later part of the series as a cheerleader named Cheryl. Dawn develops a strange crush on the quarterback and the rest of the girls follow suit making Xander and Spike investigate.
Fun Size (2012, 86 minutes, 66 1/2): Riki has more of a cameo in this movie as Galaxy Scout in this Halloween comedy. This isn't horror but it centers around Halloween and trick or treating.
The Muppets: Walk the Swine S1, E5 (2015, 23 minutes, 66 1/2): Riki guest stars on this episode as Fozzie's girlfriend Becky. I'm sure this can be argued as a creature feature.
Pulse (2006, 90 minutes, 66): Riki has a smaller role in this one as well as Janelle. This is centered around a computer virus that appears to be taking over the world.
Pulse (2006, 90 minutes, 66): Riki has a smaller role in this one as well as Janelle. This is centered around a computer virus that appears to be taking over the world.
Wednesday: Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe S1, E1 (2022, 57 minutes, 666): This is a mini-series where Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams who is expelled from her school. Her parents Gomez and Morticia, played by Luis Guzman and Catherine Zeta-Jones, send Wednesday to Nevermore Academy where they met and fell in love. Riki plays Wednesday's psychiatrist Dr. Valerie Kinbott.
-Immediate family element with Wednesday's parents and brother Pugsley though I don't know that Pugsley qualifies as a main character in order to get ATB.
Wednesday: Woe is the Loneliest Number S1, E2 (2022, 47 minutes, 666): The sheriff questions Wednesday on strange happenings and starts to investigate herself. Riki had more of a cameo as Dr. Kinbott.
-There is a statue of Edgar Allen Poe
Wednesday: Friend or Woe S1, E3 (2022, 47 minutes, 666): Wednesday stumbles onto a secret society and she must mingle with the "normies" at Jericho Pilgrim world, even dressing as a pilgrim. We also learn that not everyone is who they seem include Dr. Kinbott.
-There is a status of Edgar Allen Poe
_______________________________________________________
Roger is a wild card this year on account of his passing. Anything that he is in gets automatic triple points.
Apollo 13 (1995, 140 minutes, 666 1/2): Roger makes a cameo as a congressman in this film regarding the events of the Apollo 13
Beverly Hills 90210: Fade In, Fade Out S6, E17 (1996, 44 minutes, 66 1/2): This episode of the classic tv series counts for Roger Corman's cameo appearance. Steve puts on a film festival for Roger Corman which is a big part of the episode. I was unable to find a photo of Corman in this episode so I just used an episode photo.
-ATB points for Corman making an appearance
Black Scorpion (1995, 93 minutes, 66): Roger Corman produced this superhero camp and it would likely count either way but I don't have to make an argument. Joan Severance stars as officer Darcy Walker who becomes a masked vigilante named Black Scorpion.
Black Scorpion (1995, 93 minutes, 66): Roger Corman produced this superhero camp and it would likely count either way but I don't have to make an argument. Joan Severance stars as officer Darcy Walker who becomes a masked vigilante named Black Scorpion.
Black Scorpion: Armed and Dangerous S1, E1 (2001, 44 minutes, 66): They decided to try this as a tv series which became a one season wonder and Corman wrote this episode. Michelle Lintel takes the helm as the masked vigilante and must take on Firearm, played by Martin Kove. Also, Darcy has a partner that is determined to stop the Black Scorpion, not knowing she is his partner.
A Bucket of Blood (1959, 66 minutes, 666): Roger directed this film of a busboy in a Beatnik Cafe resorting to murder to get attention as an artist. This has always been my favorite Corman film and takes place in my sort of environment.
Machine-Gun Kelly (1958, 80 minutes, 66 1/2): Roger also directed this film which would usually not count but Corman's wild card status qualifies this Charles Bronson movie. Bronson stars as George "Machine Gun" Kelly who was a 1930s gangster and not that rapper we know today.
Scream 3 (2000, 116 minutes, 66 1/2): Roger makes a cameo as himself in this entry. When STAB 3 starts filming, Ghostface starts killing.
_______________________________________________________
Ron is a wild card this year, so I have a lot to choose from in his long career that started during childhood.
Arrested Development: Pilot S1, E1 (2003, 21 minutes, 666): I decided to revisit this sitcom which stars Jason Bateman as Michael Bluth who is the one fairly level-headed person of his dysfunctional family. Ron would always provide narration and produced the series.
Arrested Development: Top Banana S1, E2 (2003, 21 minutes, 666): George tries to get the rest of his family to start trying to work while making his son George Michael the manager of the banana stand.
Arrested Development: Bringing Up Buster S1, E3 (2003, 21 minutes, 666): Michael takes Buster under his wing while also dealing with his distant son George Michael.
Arrested Development: Key Decisions S1, E4 (2003, 21 minutes, 666): Gob gets himself put in jail to pull off the ultimate escape. Liza Minnelli is introduced as recurring character Lucille.
Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band (2019, 100 minutes, 666 1/2): Ron Howard is the executive producer of this rock documentary of events that lead to the breakup of the Band. I also came across the title song for the first time by Robbie Robertson which I really liked. I also realized the Band looked like a group of western outlaws.
The Simpsons: When You Dish Upon a Star S10, E5 (1998, 23 minutes, 666): Ron guest stars in this episode as himself when he visits his friends Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger who have become friends with Homer.
The Simpsons: Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder S11, E6 (1999, 23 minutes, 666): Homer becomes a bit of a local celebrity when he bowls a perfect game. Ron has a cameo in SPRINGFIELD SQUARES which Homer gets to also be a guest star.
Thirteen Lives (2022, 147 minutes, 666): Ron Howard directed this film which is based on a true story in Thailand where a soccer team and their coach were trapped in a flooded cave. This is a very emotional and rather inspiring film of everyone trying to work together to save these people.
_______________________________________________________
TNA Impact 9/26/2024 (2024, 93 minutes, 666): I was hoping this episode would feature wrestler PCO who is a portrayed as a Frankenstein's Monster type but he was not featured on this episode. However, I think I can make an argument for the creepy factor of Wendy Choo and Rosemary to qualify this.
TOM ATKINS
Tom is not a wild card but had a couple worth '80s selections to qualify him for this list.
Escape from New York (1981, 99 minutes, 666 1/2): Tom plays the prison guard Rehme in this John Carpenter film. The dystopian element of the movie should make this qualify.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982, 98 minutes, 66 1/2): Tom stars as Dr. Daniel Challis in this franchise entry. This is the one where they decided to go a different route than Michael Myers. Some very popular masks were coming out but seem to be brainwashing the children.
-I'm probably really pushing it and I am sorry if this has already been asked. There is a preview of HALLOWEEN which features Michael Myers so could that be ATB?
_______________________________________________________
Veronica is not a wild card, but I did find a couple good selections that I made her into a category.
Alien (1979, 117 minutes, 666): Veronica got to co-star in this iconic sci-fi horror film as Lambert who is in a spacecraft and must deal with a very deadly alien.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978): Veronica co-stars in this horror remake as Nancy where mysterious pods begin to grow and invade San Francisco, replicating the citizens one body at a time.
_______________________________________________________
Vincent is a wild card this year and gets triple points no matter what he does.
The Invisible Man Returns (1940, 81 minutes, 666): Vincent stars as Geoffrey Radcliffe who is framed for the murder of his brother. He is scheduled to hang but learns of an invisibility formula to help him escape and try to prove his innocence. The problem is the drug is slowly driving Radcliffe to insanity.
The Muppets: Vincent Price S1, E19 (1977, 30 minutes, 666): Vincent guest stars in this episode of Jim Henson's variety show that is very Halloween themed.
Service de Luxe (1938, 85 minutes, 66 1/2): This is actually Vincent's film debut where he plays the lead in a romantic comedy. I suppose people involved felt he was meant more for the horror genre.
_______________________________________________________
William is a wild card this year so anything counts for him.
Boston Legal: Roe S5, E8 (2008, 44 minutes, 666): This is probably my favorite legal series which starred Shatner as attorney Denny Crane. In this episode, Alan and Shirley come have a disagreement over their 15 year old client seeking an abortion.
